WHEN it comes to attending someone else's wedding, it's always important to remember one thing - never outshine the bride.
But one woman has left the internet divided after revealing how she was hoping to reuse a bridesmaids dress for a spring black tie wedding she has coming up in a bid to save some cash.
Only, some people took issue with the light green frock in question, because it looked very close to white.
Taking to , she explained that the venue is an “open air greenhouse” and the couple is "pretty stylish."
She continued: "I’m also a bridesmaid in a wedding right before this one, and I’m wearing the sage floor length cowl neck dress in the photos.
"Should/can I re-purpose this dress for the black tie wedding? I’m unsure because of the crepe material, the visible adjustable straps, and the colour."

The wedding guest went on to explain how she was trying to be frugal and not buy one of the other dresses she had her eye on.
However, many warned it just wasn't worth the risk, especially because it looked too close to white.
"Looks white on my phone. Weird risk to take," wrote one.
A second penned: "This reads really close to white on my screen, and may photograph white."

A third commented: "Agree. It looks like it will photograph white
If the straps didn't look like bra straps it would be black tie, do you have anything else?"
Meanwhile, a fourth noted: "It seems a bit bridesmaid like, which I know it is, and is fine but not quite black tie."
Another agreed: "I didn’t realise this was green until I read the post."
And a further added: "Unequivocally, no. It’s a beautiful dress, but it’s the closest to white that I’ve seen on here."
Elsewhere, others had a rather different perspective and noted that as long as she accessorises it to accentuate the green, then it should be fine.
"Make sure to get green accessories to maybe accentuate the green of the dress. It looks very close to white on my phone as well," advised one.
A second advised: "I think you could make it work, especially for the venue but will need to dress it up!
"To keep it from looking too bridesmaid-like, I’d pair it with that deeper green clutch you’re holding, gold strappy heels, and a pair of funky/non bridal earrings that tie in either the darker greens or botanical theme."

"That is a beautiful look on you. Wear it. Dress it up to not look briesmaidy.
"Get a light shawl or wrap in either a darker green or a pale pink. Pair a clutch in same coloyr and also incorporate that tone in jewellery," another commented.
