A 43-YEAR-OLD make-up artist has shared how you can give yourself a “facelift” using contour - and the trick is all about where you place it.
Beauty influencer Lauren Hale urged women to ditch “fish face” when applying their bronzer and contouring products in favour of her “game changing” hack.
The mum-of-three dubbed it a make-up tip “to fight the signs of gravity as we age”.
Over time, our skin loses its elasticity due to a decrease in collagen and elastin production.
Collagen provides structural support to the skin, while elastin allows it to snap back into place after being stretched.
As these proteins diminish with age, the skin becomes less firm and more prone to sagging.

But you can hide signs of sagging with clever make-up techniques, like the one on her Instagram profile.
She lines a brush from the edge of her ear to her mouth and dabs three dots of cream contour on top of it.
Once blended in, the shadow created by the products lifts the face upwards.
“Try this method for giving the illusion of pulling your cheekbones upward with your contour placement,” Lauren penned in the caption.

“No more applying your contour too low onto the hollows of the face.
“Instead, give this simple tip a try and watch your whole face pull upward for a simple facelift.”
Gravity constantly exerts a downward force on our bodies, causing tissues to gradually sag over time.
This effect is more pronounced as the skin loses elasticity and becomes less able to resist gravity's pull.
Furthermore, genetic factors also play a role in how our skin ages.
Some individuals may be more predisposed to developing sagging skin earlier or more severely than others based on their genetic makeup.
Lauren previously shared her hack for getting rid of “raccoon eyes”.
Raccoon eyes refers to mascara smudging underneath the eye and creating a dark shadow, leaving you with black rings around your eye just like the bin-loving mammals.
