A WOMAN has revealed that she is officiating her friend’s wedding and is unsure of what to wear for the big day.

The woman intends on wearing a one-shoulder, asymmetric, pale pink, tulle dress, with floral beading detail on the bottom.

But unsure with the frock, the woman took to community sharing platform, Reddit, posting on the page, to ask social media users for advice about what to wear when her friend ties the knot.

The woman shared a picture of her dress option and asked: “Appropriate for a garden formal May wedding in Positano?”

She then added: “I'm officiating my friend's wedding, and will wear a cropped light pink silk sweater on top for the ceremony.

“I am planning on asking my friend if this is ok when she returns from her trip next week but wanted to know what you guys thought.”

The post was shared just 12 hours ago, but it has quickly racked up many comments from Reddit users, as many shared their thoughts on the pale pink dress.

But unfortunately for this woman, people weren’t keen on her frock option.

Not only this, but many thought it looked like a ‘nightgown’ and would be more appropriate for a ‘toga party’.

One person said: “I am not a fan, it looks like you are showing up in a nightgown.

“Plus it’s so shapeless, not overly flattering for many people.

“It definitely doesn’t seem like something an officiant would wear.”

It looks like a tarot reader's tablecloth,' people tear into guest's dress for formal wedding their 'cat would love'

Another added: “It looks like a fancy nightgown…”

Whilst a third joked: “Appropriate for a toga party.”

Not only this, but someone else chimed in: “Sorry but to me it looks like lingerie.”

Bridal expert reveals the must-have trends for 2024

Event whizz Tsitsi Lynn Makuni claimed that mini gowns, wearing bows for tying the knot and donning bold accessories are among this season’s must-haves for marriage, The Sun reported earlier.

RING THE CHANGES - brides are opting for not one, but two dresses.

HITCH UP THE SKIRTS - short dresses were a huge hit at the Scottish Wedding Show’s October Catwalk and Tsitsi said more bridal boutiques are now offering shorter styles.

BRIGHT NOT WHITE - white and ivory dresses are no longer a given as more designers offer pastel options, and we will see a demand in more bold colours too.

BE BOLD - the accessories, too, will be as bold as our dresses. Expect to see dramatic headbands, pearl-embellished veils, elegant gloves and retro sunglasses.

TAKE A BOW - from small bows on headpieces and shoes to oversized bows on dresses, this is a wedding trend that’s showing no signs of slowing down, the expert revealed.

Meanwhile, another user claimed: “Looks like something you'd wear to a beach cafe, not a wedding.”

At the same time, one user advised the officiant on the most appropriate colours to wear when officiating a wedding.

The user shared: “Traditionally, the officiant wears something neutral, grey, navy or black.

“The idea is to keep the attention on the couple and not have the officiant wearing something that draws the eye.

That dress is just a hard no from me, especially for an officiant

“And also taking into consideration what the wedding party is wearing, so they don’t clash in any way.

“Obviously, this is a gorgeous, gorgeous dress. Perfect if you were just a guest.

“I might ask the bride in general, is she wanting you to dress like a traditional officiant for the ceremony, and then change into your gown for the rest of the wedding, or does she want you to wear whatever gown you’re wearing for both the ceremony and reception.

“She may want you to just wear this dress for the ceremony and pictures and reception, but I’m just putting it out there that she might have a different idea.

“This is something I would think of for an officiant for a summer wedding, it doesn’t fit the wedding dress code, just what would be worn for the ceremony.”

“It’s a nice dress but for your role, it feels too unstructured and casual to me.”

Whilst another user stated: "That dress is just a hard no from me, especially for an officiant.
