Sue and Noel Radford reveal they’re BOTH adopted – and discount ‘psychologists’ theories it’s why they had so many kids

WITH 22 kids, it only makes sense that people would ponder why Sue and Noel Radford decided to have so many.

But in their new book: The Radfords: Making Life Count, Noel dismisses their own adoptions have anything to do with becoming Britain's biggest family.

The 53-year-old said he'd dismiss any of the theories about himself and Sue, who got pregnant at the age of 13 with their first child.

"A lot of amateur psychologists may think the reason me and Sue have had lots of kids must be linked to the fact we were both adopted, but I don't think there is any connection," he said in one chapter.

"Unless someone comes along and sticks some electrodes on our heads, and says after doing some tests, 'Oh, this is why you've got so many kids' we're just not going to believe any of those theories."

Noel also added that the topic of their adoption was not something they spoke about with their own children, but he would be open to discuss it with the older children.

Both Sue and Noel say the parents they grew up with are the one's they see as their mum and dad - so aren't fussed about reaching out.

The mum agreed that she didn't think her adoption had anything to do with the fact she wanted a big family.

She revealed: "Well, that's just not something we ever thought about.

"No, there is nothing in that - because I don't even think about my birth parents. I don't give the fact that I was adopted any thought at all, and never have."

They will suddenly want to be all friendly, just because you're on the telly.

Noel said that he has never been tempted to track down his birth mum - but would like to be nosey and see what is in the files.

He adds that if he ever did get around to reaching out to his biological mum - she should have the common sense to 'turn around and run away' when she'd see how many grandchildren she'd have.

But he said the chances of him knocking on his birth mum's door were 'very slim.'

The pie-shop owner added things might have been different if it wasn't for his fame.

"If I wasn't on the telly, things might be different," he explained.

"If there are half-brothers and half-sisters I have no idea what they could be like - and they might say, 'Ooh, you're on the telly' and they will suddenly want to be all friendly, just because you're on the telly.

"It could all be a bit odd, and a bit stressful - it could even end up with all kinds of distant relations from all over the world getting in touch."
