My 52st body put me in a coma and only had energy to brush my teeth twice a week – now I’ve lost half by body weight
1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has admitted her morbid obesity led to her being put into a coma.
The TV star reached a staggering 52st at her heaviest, and earlier this year she admits she was rushed into hospital, after she stopped breathing.
During the emergency that started at a weight loss clinic, she was placed on a ventilator and put into a coma.
Tammy, 37, admitted the scare, reportedly last year, made her change her outlook on life, and she has now lost an incredible 31st.
The massive drop in weight has meant that she is finally able to walk unaided.
Fans were first introduced to Tammy and her sister Amy Slaton-Halterman, when 1000-Lb Sisters premiered on TLC in January 2020.

After struggling with her weight for her entire life, Kentucky, US, native Tammy reached her goal weight for weight loss surgery during a February 2023 episode, after she dropped from more than 50st to 38st.
Tammy underwent the procedure, bariatric surgery, and admitted she was “Excited to have a new chance on life.”
Three months post surgery, she was taken off round-the-clock oxygen support.
But it wasn’t just breathing and walking unaided Tammy had struggled with - her weight has taken a huge toll on her personal hygiene.
Viewers were left shocked when Tammy admitted on the show that she rarely brushes her teeth, as she took her first trip to the dentist in a decade.
While at the dentists she was asked how often she cleans her gnashers, and revealed: “I try to at least twice a week. "I should be doing it every day, but…”
Viewers were horrified by the admission, but Tammy is unrepentant.
She hit back at trolls from her Tik Tok, saying: “With all due respect, I wish people like you would stop commenting crap like this.
"It’s not helping my confidence.
" I was trying to keep my confidence boosted and seeing comments about my chin or my teeth doesn’t help.”
Despite battling these problems, she is now positive that her weight loss has given her a new lease of life, and she has an interest in a new career in modelling.
Tammy has been dressing up and posing for the camera in her Kentucky home, as a source said Tammy has her eyes set on modeling and growing her publicity beyond the reality show.
Tammy has vowed to not let her body "defeat her" after her almost fatal experience.
She told People magazine: "My near-death experience has taught me not to take life for granted...
"I now live my life how I want to and not how others want me to…
"I told y’all that this wasn’t the end of me, the new and improved Tammy is on the way."
