People are just discovering how seeds can spell disaster for laundry after mom tossed baby’s soiled clothes in the wash
A MOM found out the hard way not to get seeds in the washing machine after her child got tangled up in them.
After running a load, she warned others not to make the same mistake she did.
Hannah () shared her laundry fail and subsequent advice in a TikTok video.
She explained that she let her child play with a mixture of chia seeds and water but didn't expect what would happen next.
"Did you know if you let your child play with chia seeds and then wash their clothes, this will happen?" she asked.
Seeds got all over her baby's clothing and after a pop in the wash, she took the laundry out to reveal sprouts all over the garments.
"Chia seeds can sprout in your washer if they aren't removed from fabric," she said, showing off her infested pile of towels.
"How come none of the mom blogs warned me about this?"
Hannah joked that without her knowledge, her appliances became a breeding ground for plants.
"Your washer will become a chia pet," she said.

Thankfully, she had a solution that got rid of the sprouts on a second rinse.
"Don't worry, bleach will kill them but you will have to pick every seed off your clothes," she said.
Moms everywhere thanked her for her public service announcement, as many were unaware.
"Definitely taking this idea off my Pinterest, thank you for the warning," said one.
Many realized for the first time that chia seeds and chia pets were the same.
"I don't understand why it took me to just this moment to realize that the seeds for the chia pets are the same chia seeds people eat," said one commenter.
Others shared that they too, learned the hard way that seeds in the wrong places can spell disaster.
"I got them down the drain once and a week later was pulling foot-long sprouts out," said one commenter.
