NOTHING complements a full face of make-up quite like a fluffy and voluminous lash, especially when it’s with an affordable mascara.

Enter, L'Oréal Paris’ extensive range of cult-loved mascaras. But what if we told you that the make-up giant has created a brand new one that’s meant to make your eyes look 1.4x bigger?

Well, it has - the new Panorama Mascara, which was released earlier this month.

According to bosses at the beauty brand, it offers “corner-to-corner panoramic volume” in just a few swipes.

And to make it even more appealing, L'Oréal enlisted supermodel Kendall Jenner to front the campaign.

Fabulous put the mascara to the test to find out just how much it widens your eyes and how well it lasts throughout the day.

It comes in black and brown, but I gave the black shade a go on a normal work day to see how well it fares against the elements.

Here’s my verdict…

What the clump?

Despite the phrase “panoramic volume” conjuring up ideas of thick lashes clumping close together like a skyline, the formula was surprisingly lightweight.

It had a wispy finish that, thanks to how light it was, meant my lashes still curled upwards at the end.

I was initially worried that if the formula was too thick, my lashes would clump together and stick out straight.

But I needn’t have worried, because the finish gave a my-eyelashes-but-better look.

Each strand was separated from the next but coated in enough mascara to create noticeable volume across my eyelid.

I'm a beauty pro - I tried all the 'best' mascaras on the market & here's what I found - one is far too hyped but another ticks all the boxes

The million dollar question

Did it make my eyes look 1.4x bigger? Well, that would be impossible to quantify.

But what it did do was make them seem much rounder - and that's counts as bigger in my book.

Thanks to the multi-level bristle brush, the mascara fanned my lashes from the inner to outer edge, producing somewhat of a wispy cat-eye look.

This enhanced the shape of my eyes to make them look more open, which changed the whole vibe of my make-up.

To achieve these results, I followed L'Oréal’s application instructions.

These were: “For best results, use the thinner tip of the brush for the shorter inside lashes, and then the thicker body of the brush for longer middle lashes.

“Apply second coat when semi-dry for added volume.”

I don’t put mascara on my bottom eyelashes but imagine that if you did with this mascara, that might bump the widening effect up to the 1.4x promised.

Did it last all day?

Yes it did, what a treat! Straight out of the tube, the mascara impressed me - but I was even more impressed when I got home.

After a full 11 hours out of the house, it still looked like it had been freshly applied come 6pm.

And I’m not the only one who thinks this, as 88% of other women who have tried the mascara said it doesn’t smudge at all during the day.

According to celeb make-up artist Val Garland, the mascara is an “industry game-changer” and “powers up lashes in seconds”.

“In just one sweep, lashes are stretched to perfection,” she said.

“Apply it to the outer corners of the upper lashes first to really open up the eye.

“Then, wiggle the wand through the centre lash by lash to get panoramic dimension.”
