I got a three-course Valentine’s meal for two from Lidl for less than a fiver – here’s the exact shopping list I used

One woman has shared how she managed to get a three course meal from Lidl for under a fiver.

Bargain hunter Becky shared her thrifty dinner via a video posted to her TikTok channel .
She often uses the channel to post money saving tips as well as her latest charity shop and carboot hauls.
The budgeting pro's videos are very popular with social media users and she has racked up over 208,000 followers on the video sharing platform.
In the video, Becky and her partner can be seen in Lidl, picking out bits for their romantic meal.

For a starter the couple picked out a tin of vegetable soup, which cost 62p and two bread rolls, which cost 25p each.
For the main course, they grabbed a packed of penne, which cost 41p and a tin of pasta bake sauce, which was 72p.
They also placed a tin of tuna in their trolley, which cost 65p.
"We still wanted to be healthy so we got a pepper and a tin of sweetcorn as well", Becky said.

The pepper set them back by 55p, whilst the sweetcorn came to 72p.
Becky then explained that Lidl is doing a promotion until the end of February where if you spend at least 1p in store and scan the Lidl plus app you can play their "spin to win" game where you get to win a free bakery item.

However, she added that you can only spin the wheel once every 24 hours, so unfortunately you can't scan each item on your shopping list separately and get a free pastry with each.
She span the wheel on the app and was told that she could get a free cookie.
"We will have this for dessert", Becky said.
The couple then head to the till, where the cashier informed them that the grand total for their three course meal was just £4.17.
Becky added that she thought she could have got the meal even cheaper, but wanted to ensure that she had protein and vegetables.
