‘In a gentle breeze you’d have it all hanging out’ people say as guest shows off wedding ‘mini dress’
WHEN it comes to weddings there are several unwritten rules - from steering clear of white to not drinking too much.
But what's deemed appropriate when it comes to wedding guest dresses?
An anonymous wedding guest, who is 5'2, took to a 'wedding attire approval' forum on Reddit and shared snaps of the two frocks she was considering wearing to a pal's big day.
"Are either of these appropriate as a wedding guest to semi-formal wedding?" she asked.
"I prefer the yellow more."
The first frock, by Australian brand Billy J, is a yellow floral print mini dress featuring deep V neckline and short balloon sleeves.

The 'Abel Mini Dress,' which retails at £59, is also made from a semi sheer jacquard fabric, has a thick, elasticated waistband, structured hem on skirt, and invisible back zipper.
Meanwhile, the wedding guest's second dress option is the 'Woodbury Satin Mini Dress' in a deep topaz floral print from a site called Baltic Born.
The satin frock has an adjustable tie at the bust with keyhole design, hidden zipper with eye and hook at the back of the neck and long sleeves with elastic gathering detail at the sleeve cuffs.
Available in a range of other colours including deep mauve, mocha and black floral, and retailing at £51, the website claims it's "mid thigh length, unlined but not sheer."
But while the guest-to-be was set on either of the two dresses in question, they caused quite a stir online - with many branding them totally inappropriate for a wedding.
"Those are too short," wrote one.
A second pointed out: "If there was a gentle breeze that second girl would have it ALL hanging out."
"Sorry but not appropriate," agreed a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth noted: "Not Above the knee without barely covering your butt is a automatic no.
"This kind of dress are good for parties, not for weddings."
Another added: "Definitely too short."
And one more chimed in: "Where do they land on you? Cause on the model, they are mini skirts.
"That's no wedding appropriate. If you're on the short side and they fall at your knee, they are fine."
