Fans were overjoyed when the fast food giant announced that The Big Tasty and The Big Tasty with Bacon would be returning to the menu in February.

They contain a beef patty, melty cheese made with Emmental, tomato, lettuce, onions and iconic Big Tasty sauce.

However, those hoping to get their hands on the burger need to be quick as it will be axed from the menu once again on March 12.

Luckily one Redditor has shared his method for recreating the patty’s signature smoky sauce at home.

Posting in the Top Secret Recipes subreddit, the customer shared the closest recipe he had come up with for achieving the same smoky taste.

To create the condiment, fans should simply combine the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise.
  • 1 chopped cucumber.
  • 2 teaspoons distilled vinegar.
  • 2 teaspoons sugar.
  • 3 pinches salt, about 1/4 teaspoon.
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion.
  • 1 teaspoon mustard.
  • 1/2 clove garlic, minced.
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil.
  • 2 teaspoons paprika.
  • 1 & 1/2 tablespoons ketchup.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

While liquid smoke might seem a little out there, it can be purchased for around £5 on Amazon.

The famous burger returned to the menu on February 7.

Each time the burgers make a comeback, they're a huge hit, with many calling for them to be made permanent.

For those of you looking to upgrade your dinner, you can also bag the burger with bacon too.

They'll cost £7.69 for the classic and £8.49 with bacon.
