One savvy shopper has shared how to nab not one, but two, McDonald’s meals for a total of just 80p - yes, you heard that correctly.

Bargain hunter Becky Koch was thrilled with her haul of food, and proudly took to social media to alert others.

She then told food fans: “If you get the McDonald’s reward app, use it.

“This cost me 80p altogether.”

The McDonald’s fan was lucky enough to get her hands on a Big Mac with fries and a hot drink, as well as a Quarter Pounder with a cold drink.

With a medium Big Mac meal costing £6.69, a Quarter Pounder with cheese retailing at £4.99 and a medium drink at 99p, Becky's haul should have set her back £12.67.

However, thanks to her rewards, the McDonald's lover was able to save a staggering £11.87.

Becky later wrote: “It definitely saves a few pounds. I took my mum out today and she was well happy with it.”

Becky shared her post just 13 hours ago and it has left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 114 likes and 109 comments.

Social media users were stunned at the price - so much so that some people didn’t believe Becky.

One person said: “80p for all that? Doubt it.”

I'm an ex-McDonald's chef - there’s a reason you wait so long for food and it has nothing to do with it being fresh

To this, one user penned: “She used her reward points.”

In response, Becky clapped back and wrote: “Clearly you can’t read then, I mentioned the rewards app which means you can get stuff on the app cheaper.”

Another added: “Great bargain.”

Whilst a third commented: “Nice one Becky, good way to start the day.”

At the same time, many McDonald’s fans took to the comments to praise the fast food app.

Not only were people impressed with the freebies available, but parents said it was great for taking kids out on the cheap too.

One user shared: “Love the rewards app had so many free breakfasts because of it.”

A second agreed: “The app is great. I love the table service.”

Someone else admitted: “I've used this quite a few times too. Usually when we take the kids to get their happy meals then get mine out of the rewards! Saves us a bit!”

Meanwhile, another McDonald’s fan beamed: “The McDonalds app is great, I got six nuggets, a double cheeseburger, small fries, small sprite and a tea for £1.49 yesterday.”

If you fancy saving yourself some cash, you’ll need to download the MyMcDonald's app now, which you can do for free via Google Play or the App Store.

The MyMcDonald's Rewards scheme is still fairly new, having only been introduced last year.

If you order and pay through the MyMcDonald's app, your points will automatically be banked.

If you're paying another way, like in-store at a kiosk or till or for drive-thru, you can get a one-time code - available in the "code" section of your app.

You can give this code when ordering to get the points added to your account.

Customers collect points by buying food from the fast food chain and exchanging these points for their favourite meals.

For every penny you spend, you'll earn one point. Once you earn 1,500 you can start redeeming your points.

There are several items you can get for free once you've earned enough points, including popular breakfast items and McFlurrys.

For 1,500 points, you can get small fries, a medium salad, a regular McCafe hot drink, a mini McFlurry, a hash brown or a regular drink.

If you’ve got 2,500 points, you can nab a Veg Deluxe, a Bacon Mayo Chicken, a Cheesy Bacon Flatbread, medium fries, a Double Cheeseburger, or an Apple Pie.

However, for those with 4,000 points, you’ll be treated to either a Big Mac, a Double sausage egg McMuffin, a large crispy chicken salad, six chicken McNuggets, a McChicken sandwich, a McPlant, or a Fillet- O-Fish.
