GWEN Stefani's ongoing lip-boosting efforts using filler are starting to show poor results, a plastic surgeon has warned.
He claims the pop star's pursuits of so-called seagull lips and a beauty ideal aren't going quite right.
Gwen, 54, has been promoting her beauty brand, GXVE, this year with videos on Instagram showing fans how she applied makeup.
One shows The Voice judge using her new mascara while pursing her lips — which garnered some negative comments from fans.
“The nails, no, the lips, no," one wrote.
“I’m a huge fan, but not of the gigantic lips. Please stop," commented another.
Plastic surgeon said Gwen's lips show "bulky bits."
On January 27, Gwen shared another promoting her upcoming pregame party Super Bowl gig.
The mom of three smiled excitedly when discussing the Super Bowl LVIII TikTok Tailgate.
“Some people love their natural gummy smiles," Westreich told The U.S. Sun.
“But Gwen probably does not like her natural, gummy smile. She has probably never liked it.
“I can see all the filler in the bulky bits on her top lip, which covers up some of Gwen's gums.
“It is much less common to have a gummy smile, and Gwen may be thinking in terms of an aesthetic optimal.

“Gwen may be gravitating towards what she thinks is the average in terms of beauty.
“This means where there is supposed to be a certain amount of coverage of the teeth when she smiles.”
Westreich explained why Gwen has been trying to achieve seagull lips.
The Seagull Wing technique is said to create a seagull wing–like shape in the upper lip.
“Gwen uses filler to turn her lips into the seagull-type look," he said.
"Other people naturally have an indent underneath the high lip point.
"This is on top on both sides and a central tubercle."
Gwen probably has pretty semi-permanent filled lips now.

January has seen rumors of marriage issues with her husband, country star Blake Shelton.
The pair married at their Oklahoma ranch in 2021, several years after they met as judges on The Voice in 2015.
In December, Gwen appeared to take down all photos of Blake from her social media profile.
As reported by The U.S. Sun, the marriage could have fallen into difficulty after they spent New Year's Eve apart.
Blake spent New Year's Eve working in Nashville while Gwen put on her show in Las Vegas.
Westreich suggested Gwen had just gotten more lip filler injections.
“Gwen may have just had another round and boosted her lips," he said.
“Now the filler stays semi-permanently, so she could have had additional injections every six to 12 months.
“Gwen has been doing this long enough now that she probably has pretty semi-permanent filled lips.
“It is also not uncommon for somebody before, during, or after a breakup to come in for either surgery or for non-surgical treatment.
The most common revenge makeover treatments are Botox and fillers

“They could also have a revenge makeover.
"This is more common for divorces and separations, so I could not say that about Gwen and Blake.
“The most common revenge makeover treatments are Botox and fillers.
"There are also eye procedures or jawline procedures.
“This is where people are trying to look a little younger and are out on the apps, looking to meet a partner again.”
The No Doubt summer reunion has prompted speculation that Gwen has been hankering after her past and an ex.
In a video on social media, Gwen thought about her time in No Doubt.
"This is actually bringing back so many memories," she said, looking through memorabilia.
"I'm going to text Tony right now," she said about Tony Kanal, her ex-boyfriend and bandmate.
Gwen is known to work hard at maintaining her youthful looks.
In 2022, Westreich claimed the fashion mogul had spent around $100,000 on cosmetic procedures.
He said she would not need a facelift in ten years.
“There are some prevailing theories that beauty is a composite that your brain creates," added Westreich.
"It is based on the average of all the faces you encounter.
“That is why your concept or understanding of beauty can change over time as people's looks change.
“Gwen may consciously or subconsciously want to trend more to the average.
The problem she is getting now is that filler in the lip gets caught on the gums.
Dr. Richard Westreich
"The average is not the gummy smile she has.
"She also wants to maintain her whistle lip when her lips are closed.
“Gwen has always had the whistle lip with that central indent in her upper lip and their lower lip.
“It is almost like a diamond-shaped space between the upper and lower lips when closed.
"Gwen has been accentuating the whistle, and that is what she has been doing for years with filler.
“The problem she is getting now is that filler in the lip gets caught on the gums.
