HAVING wet washing hanging around inside is not only an eyesore but can also lead to damp, mould or condensation.
Mrs Hinch’s Cleaning Tips Facebook group is great for cleaning and household advice, and one member revealed how they dry their laundry inside - without using a dehumidifier or tumble dryer.

Paula Lawson wrote: “I posted about this last winter, but thought I'd mention it again for any newbies.
“If you have a banister this is a brilliant way to get your washing dry - the wide-armed radiator airers fit perfectly.
“As we all know heat rises so clothes dry very quickly.”
She posted a photo of her landing and stair banister that had a towel thrown over, as well as two radiator airers, which she had hung several items of clothing from.

The post received 6.4k likes and hundreds of comments, many of which wanted to know where they could purchase a radiator airer from.
Paula revealed: “You can get them in The Range, B&M or Home Bargains.”
Someone else said they bought theirs from Pound Stretcher, whilst another mentioned Amazon.
Sonia Kingstree suggested another way to use the radiator airer - especially if you live in a small property.

She commented: “These would be great to hang clothes over a door too especially in a flat where an airer takes up space on the floor.”
Hayley Otway added that drying your washing this way “ makes your house smell nice” too.
B&M sells a version of the radiator airer - a two pack for £5.
The product description reads: “Hang it from any radiator in the house, and leave it to dry your washing with ease.
“Allows you to get even more washing dryer, quicker!”
Dunelm sells a foldable radiator airer which has a foldable wing to increase drying space.
No tumble dryer or dehumidifer? No problem.
Tips to master drying clothes inside in winter
Washing doesn’t stop for bad weather, so you need to find the best way to get your clothes dry without them starting to smell.
1. Don't overfill the washing machine
Ramming as many clothes in will leave them damper at the end of the wash and, ultimately, they will take longer to dry.
2. Add an extra spin
For heavy or thick items such as jeans, joggers, jumpers, and towels, use your machine’s fastest spin cycle to help get rid of any excess water.
3. Hang your clothes straight away
Don’t leave them in the machine or a laundry basket as this can cause them to smell musty and even grow mould. Use hangers for T-shirts and skirt clip hangers for trousers - they will also dry crease-free this way.
4. Open a window
Ventilation is key to getting wet washing dry inside. Position your airer near a window if possible to get a good flow of circulation.
