‘Trust me, it works’ I failed my driving test seven times after spending thousands on lessons – nail trick made me pass

As soon as she turned 17, Aaliyah Anderson was determined to become a driver.
She spent thousands of pounds trying to land her licence but kept flopping when it came to the crunch on the big day.
She finally passed on her eighth attempt and that was only after following a secret beauty trick that she’s now passing on.
Aaliyah, from Fife, said: “Tip for passing your driving test – get your nails done. Trust me it works.
“Apparently it’s a thing if you get your nails done you will pass. I think it’s to do with confidence maybe.”
Aaliyah took her first driving test in Kirkcaldy, Fife in December 2019 but admitted that it didn’t go as she’d hoped.
She kept trying and revealed it took another 17 months for her to finally pass in May 2021.
On social media (), she told how she hit quite a few bumps in the road during the many tests that followed.
She had a panic attack and burst into tears during her second one. While she went through a red light on try number five.
After attempt seven she was starting to think that maybe driving wasn’t for her and was considering quitting for good.
But after getting her nails done she passed on try eight and was able to get behind the wheel of her dream car, an Audi.
She said: “Honestly, the best thing I did was stick it out. Don’t give up besties.”
Aaliyah doesn’t know exactly how much she spent on her driving quest but reckons it was a small fortune on the tests alone.
She said: “£736 including hiring the car for the test. It was a tough time for my bank.
“It’s actually heartbreaking. I spent thousands on lessons.
“Every penny was paid for by myself. It does get really frustrating but trust me it feels good when it’s done with for life.”
Her fans on chipped in with their tips and advice on how to pass the driving test.
One said: “I agree. I failed twice and passed after I got my nails done.”
Another said: “I asked if we could listen to music on my sixth one and passed. This was seven years ago though. I dunno what the rules are now.”
While Stacy came up with an unusual tip that others agree worked for them.
She said: “I ate two bananas and made sure I had a Lucozade with me. I just made myself come across confident and chatty and it felt more natural then.”
