A COUPLE who didn’t want to pay a pricey mortgage have revealed how they have moved full-time into a horsebox.

Breanna and husband Justin - along with their two dogs Cash and Meeko - bought their trailer for just £775 and transformed it themselves into a cosy tiny home.

They share their adventures on the YouTube channel and are honest about the pros and cons of the frugal lifestyle.

Speaking of their decision to buy the horsebox at the time, the inspiring couple said: “A lot of people are asking us why we are doing this.

“There are a lot of reasons why, one being that housing is so expensive.”

She also said she found it a “waste of money” paying for a mortgage on a house when they only go there to sleep as they work hard and are often out of the house.

More on tiny homes

Justin added: “The most fun we have in our lives is when we are on vacation, you aren’t worried about anything and just having fun.

“We thought it’d be nice to do that full-time.”

Breanna and Justin converted their 16ft trailer into a snug mini home, complete with a double bed and kitchen area.

There’s also a large sofa area to act as their lounge when they want to relax - which often doubles up as the dogs’ hangout space.

They added insulation to the ceiling and floor to make it warmer in colder months and also painted it to make it look more homely.

Updating their followers, they said: “We are officially all moved into our camper, we are done with it other than a few minor touch-ups apart from painting the outside.

“We are staying right now at Justin’s parents’ house in their backyard, it’s been pretty great.”

Breanna also answered some questions about their horsebox home, including how they shower and use the bathroom.

She said: “We do not shower everyday, I’m not going to sit here and pretend that we do, that’s not what this channel is about, it’s the real deal.

“We have body wipes in the camper, and we keep soap and if we are really sweaty we’ll soap off with a rag and a bar of soap and it works.

“It gets you clean enough.

“This has taken some getting used to for me as I’m a shower person and I used to take two a day when we lived in a house.

“We do stay very hygienic, right now we are using my friend’s shower.

“We are using her laundry room too.”

And it can be tricky if they need the loo in the night.

Breanna said: “For using the bathroom we go inside my friend’s house.

“My mum gifted us a pop-up toilet and you put disposable bags in it and you can use that inside or outside.

“There are plenty of public places to use bathrooms too.”

However, there are so many benefits, especially financial.

Breanna said: “We have no monthly bills, other than the power at the place where we are staying and our phones.

“Just your typical gas food and food for the dogs.”

They also plan to travel around in their camper working remotely to earn money as they go.

She urged anyone to consider making a change to their lifestyle if they are unhappy.

Breanna added: “If you don’t like your life, go change it, there are plenty of ways to do it right now.”
