YOU might be sleeping with nasty dust bugs and other germs if you have not vacuumed your mattresses for a long time.
A TikToker revealed how dirty mattresses can get if not cleaned properly.
In the video, Deal Cheats shows an uncleaned mattress getting vacuumed for the first time.
After the process, she shows the dust pan which gets filled with nasty amount of dust and other particles - and possibly loads of tiny bugs.
She then proceeds to buy a bed vacuum, advising others to do the same.
The TikToker says: "Who knew I was sleeping with someone this whole time.
"The thought of sleeping with dust mites makes me wanna get a vacuum for my mattress."
Gurus at said: "Dust mites love the warmth of your bed, so in the morning, you should pull back your bed covers for 30 minutes and leave them to air and cool down, before you make your bed.”
The tiny creatures, which are naked to the human eye, feed on flakes of skin which we shed throughout the day - and while we sleep.
Commonly found in furniture, carpets, bedding and even stuffed toys, dust mites can cause itchy skin, a runny nose or watery eyes if you’re allergic.
They love places which are humid and between 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, with the noting: “In a warm, humid house, dust mites can survive all year.”
They added: ''There are things you can do to keep your bedding as fresh – such as not eating in bed, not allowing pets on your bed, and using skincare and body products at least 30 minutes before bed, so your skin absorbs them as opposed to your bedding.”
Meanwhile, another savvy cleaning whizz has revealed how to tackle grim dust and dirt on your mattress with almost no effort - and the homemade remedy costs just pennies to make.
According to the guru, only known as @ on TikTok, the hack is so effective you won't need to fork out for a new mattress ever again.
The easy remedy, the pro demonstrated in a video shared on the platform, calls for a few cupboard essentials most likely already sitting in your kitchen.
These include a tablespoon of salt, 150ml of warm water, a tablespoon of your favourite washing-up liquid, two tablespoons of white alcohol vinegar, as well as a tablespoon of baking soda.
All of these, Easy Tips showed in , are combined in a bowl and you should see the baking soda creating bubbles when mixed with the acidic vinegar - this is totally normal.
Once the white foam has settled, take a spare plastic bottle and transfer the homemade mixture - a funnel should make the process easier.
