SHINY HAPPY PEOPLE

I went to a high street store for a hair wash and style, my locks have never looked so shiny

I'd always been sceptical about hair products from the popular beauty brand - but I couldn't have been more wrong

LUSH'S new flagship store opened in Glasgow last month in time for festive shoppers to pick up Christmas pressies.

But the shop, covering three levels on , doesn't just sell the usual bath bombs and bubble bars.

It's also got a shampoo bar in the basement - and a spa will be opening on the top floor later this month.

I was lucky enough to be the first customer to experience the hair offering when the doors opened in December.

I've always been a fan of Lush's bath bombs, in fact Santa popped a box of the snow collection under my tree at Christmas.

But for some reason I'd never tried any of their other beauty bits and pieces.

Having really long, thick hair and a sensitive scalp I had avoided using any of their shampoo or conditioner products, under the miscomprehension that they wouldn't be gentle or nourishing enough. But I couldn't have been more wrong.

The shampoo bar itself is beautiful with the decor reflecting the bright, bold colours of Lush's products. It's located at the back of the ground floor, down a small flight of stairs - meaning you pass through the stunning first floor of products and the Plant Blonde cafe bar.

Two trained hair stylists work full time in the bar, which looks like a mini salon complete with washing and styling stations.

The stylists chat over what you're looking for, yhour hair type and your favourite Lush products before getting to work.

My expert chose a Coconut Rice shampoo bar for washing. This smelled lovely and it's amazing how much lather you can get from a couple of swooshes of the bar through wet hair. It's ideal for dry hair, leaving it feeling hydrated and super soft.

Next she went for Power Conditioner. Because my hair is really long, it gets tangled easily so conditioner is a must for me. This again smells heavenly and is a lovely consistency. It left my hair with a bit of volume and super easy to comb through.

Over at the styling mirror, my hair was sprayed with Super Milk conditioning spray, made with almond, coconut and oat milks.

I don't tend to use much in the way of product after my hair is washed as it gets greasy quickly. But this is super light and leaves your hair smelling gorgeous without weighing it down. And it also acts as a heat protector - ideal for my styling ahead.

I was treated to a bouncy blow dry and loose curls before by hair was doused in shine spray.

The whole experience was so relaxing and I can honestly say my hair has never looked so shiny - and I've never had so many complements about how good my locks looked, and smelled. It's £25 for a wash and self-style and £40 for a wash and style, so not too pricey either.

One thing is for sure I will be back for more, it was too lush not to!
