However, one Reddit user has shared their very simple hack for making the dreaded job a breeze and it will cost you pennies.

Taking to the forum, the Redditor shared a snap of their false Christmas tree, still fully decorated - but they had wrapped it in cling film.

They can now simply store the tree fully decorated in the attic ready to be unwrapped and set up again next year.

Captioning the snap, the user wrote: “Screw it, this is how we're taking down our fake Christmas tree this year.”

It’s fair to say that the user’s method left fellow Redditors divided.

One commented: “I can't judge someone for this, I hate undecorating.”

Another agreed adding: “My parents do this every year. Just avoid the glass ornaments, because you will probably drop one or two in transport.

“Other than that, great idea! Saves the time to take apart/reassemble, and keeps the dust off too.”

However, some were less convinced by the idea.

One argued: “But...the best part about getting/putting up the tree is decorating it, at least in our family.

“It's a big event - we make sugar cookies, play old Christmas records, and listen to my mother reminisce about all our ornaments.

“To each their own, but I'd find this disappointing.”
