An infuriating new puzzle is challenging the web to spot the three apples hidden in this wintery scene.

While that might sound simple enough, there are hundreds of small red birds cluttering the scene making the fruit extremely tricky to pinpoint.

The puzzle was devised by Hungarian cartoonist Gergely Dudás, who is better known as , who is famed for his mind-boggling seek and find puzzles.

He shared this one on Facebook where he boasts over 168,000 followers many of whom were left positively baffled by the conundrum.

Commenting on the post, one wrote: “Found two. Had to look up the last one in the solution. It was sooo difficult!”

“This was a tough one!” agreed another, while a third added, “That was so hard!”

Eagle-eyed players should be able to spot the three apples by the top left tree, the poinsettia and then just to the lower left of the second apple.

In this illustrated puzzle, you have to find five carrots among the squirrels.

You may think that sounds simple, but it isn't — and you are going to have to work hard in this optical illusion vision test.

The wintry scene features several smiling snowmen who are surrounded by squirrels, both the red variety and the gray.

Somewhere, hidden in this busy picture, are five carrots.

It is no easy task because these snowmen's missing noses are perfectly disguised.

There are plenty of acorns scattered around, but where are the carrots?

But, in the spirit of seasonal goodwill, we are prepared to give you a clue.

Divide the picture into quarters. The bottom two contain three of the carrots, while the top two contain the remaining vegetables.
