I threw all my baby’s toys away & gave her a dog food bowl – call me a bad mum but she’s so happy
Mums share the easiest hacks to keep babies entertained.
TONNES of colourful baby toys were sent to the bin in one mum’s household as she swapped the lot for plastic pots and her dog’s water bowl.
Loving mum decided to take her 10-month-old baby’s toys away and replace them with safe household items.

While she admits other mums will say she’s a bad parent, her daughter is as happy as can be.
The mum-of-two filmed her child playing in her giant pen filled with musical toys, games and walkers.
Then she proceeded to take a basket and take all the toys away.
She wrote: “This might make me seem like a bad mum but I’m taking all of my 10-month-old’s toys away.

Holly claimed that she’s trying to simplify her daughter’s playtime and possessions so that she doesn’t get overwhelmed and learns to play more thoughtfully.
In the clip, she removed every toy from the play pen as her daughter watched on, unfussed by the activity.
She then returned to the camera with a handful of plastic kitchen items.

Speaking to her followers, Holly said: “I just took all my daughter’s toys that she doesn’t play with away.
“Instead I’m going to give her water bottles and Tupperware to play with and see if that will keep her happy.”
The little one was clearly excited by her new toys as her eyes fixed on the plastic bottles making their way into her pen.
Holly then returns with yet more items - a box of plastic kitchen utensils including a spaghetti spoon and a fish slice.
Finally, she throws in a metal dog food bowl, stating: “Because why the heck not?
“She loves dumping out the dog’s water and eating the dog food.”
Holly claims she’s ‘just trying something different’, and tonnes of mums have applauded her cheap and clever hack.
One fellow parent replied to her TikTok video: “That baby is about to have so much fun. You literally just gave her everything she wants.”
A second mum commented: “You should toss in a roll of toilet paper, it’s my little one’s favourite toy.”
