Here are three of my favourites . . .

Budget

e.l.f. Cosmetics Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow, (£6, elfcosmetics. co.uk): Budget ones can be chalky and lack colour pay-off, but not this one.

The cream formula is super-pigmented and contains chunky glitter particles.

It dries quickly, so to get it right takes a bit of trial and error.

My trick is to do one eye at a time and apply more than you think you’ll need.

As you can’t layer it, It also means you can’t really adjust the level of sparkle.

It comes in 11 shades, with everything from gold and silver to green and blue, so there will be one to suit everyone.

Mid-range

Half Magic Glitterpill Eye Paint & Liner, (£19, 4ml, beautybay.com): Created by Euphoria’s lead make-up artist Donni Davy, it’s no surprise this has the most shimmer.

There’s no eyeshadow pigment, just multiple sizes of coloured glitter which easily layers to create a full-on glitter eye, or use it as a topper over an eyeshadow of a similar shade if you want something more subtle.

The tapered applicator means you can use it as an eyeliner as well as a shadow, or pinpoint exactly where you’re applying the glitter.

Once it dries, it’s transfer proof so you don’t need to worry about specks of glitter getting in your eye or on your face, and it’ll stay in place all nihgt long.

Luxury

Victoria Beckham Lid Lustre, (£33, 5g, victoriabeckhambeauty.com): Everything about this eyeshadow screams luxury – from the heavy glass packaging to the finely milled shimmer which contains real crushed gemstones.

The cream formula is easy to blend with fingers, so you don’t need any extra tools, and can be sheered out or built up depending on the occasion.

The powder is so fine that it almost feels like a cream, so it doesn’t settle into fine lines or creases.

It is packed with hydrating ingredients such as squalane, glycerin and magnolia bark extract – so it is great for sensitive and mature skin.

If I could only pick one, I would buy this because of its versatility alone.
