I make £17k a month with zero qualifications and all I have to do is scroll on my phone all day

What started out as a protest against the beauty industry's standards quickly turned into a money-maker

A WOMAN has revealed how she makes up to £17k a month by simply scrolling on her phone.

But Fenella Fox isn’t an investor or even a TikTok star, but rather 29-year-old has made her fortune thanks to her hairy armpits.

Fenella decided to embrace her body hair online after she ditched the razor six years ago.

The business woman had been working as a cam girl at the time, earning up to £4,000 a month.

But long hours spent doing her make-up and shaving until “silky smooth” left her feeling “exhausted”, so she quit.

She decided to stop shaving and go travelling – posting photos of her hairy body on social media.

And she was surprised by the overwhelming positive response and, realising how much her followers loved her hairy assets, decided to make money from it.

Easy money

In 2020 she joined OnlyFans, making up to £17,000 a month selling photos of her hairy armpits.

She has now garnered one million followers across social media who praise her display of body hair.

Fenella, from Worcester, said: “I was fed up with conforming to beauty standards and being seen as an object.

“In protest I stopped wearing make-up and refused to shave.

“By freeing my armpits and unshaved bikini line, I could show the real me on camera."

Fenella dropped out of university after struggling with social anxiety and fell into the world of webcamming.

Perfection pressure

She said: "Over time my boundaries wore away and my confidence grew.

"Webcamming had its perks - I was earning up to £4k a month.

"But the website took 50% of my earnings.

"As much as I wanted to work in that industry, the hours were exhausting.

"I felt so burnt-out.

"Needing to wear make-up and always pampering myself to ensure my body was silky smooth.

“I didn’t realise the extent I’d have to go to work in the industry – I was naïve.

"I reached a point where I was so upset and angry.

“My mental health was reaching an all-time low, so I quit."

Body confidence

Fenella decided to ditch the razor and embrace her body hair - growing out her armpits and bikini line.

She went travelling to Australia where she posted photos of herself embracing her hairy body - and they went viral.

She said: “I decided to grow out my body hair and share it with everyone online.

"I showcased my body at tourist hotspots and under waterfalls.

"Before long my posts went viral - with a lot of people relating to my honesty.

"Instead of my inbox being flooded with messages from men, and I had women thanking me."

I like to think I’m making body hair more socially acceptable one step at a time

In 2020, she returned to the UK due to the covid lockdown and started up an OnlyFans page.

She continued embracing her body hair by making content where she showcased her hairy pits.

Fenella said: "I didn't need to spend hours perfecting my make-up.

"I stepped in front of the camera with hairy pits and without judgement.

"I was the one in control."

In one month, Fenella was making up to £17k from selling her content.

Stepping back

But her hard work began to take its toll, and she has taken a step back from post as often.

"I was on my phone up to 14 hours a day scrolling, messaging and filming content,” she said.

“I started experiencing waves of dizziness.

“Like I was going to faint any time I stood up.

“I was diagnosed with vestibular migraines – a type of vertigo.

“I still post content, but I’ve drastically reduced my screentime to put my health first.”

She still earns up to £12k a month but limits her phone usage to two hours a day.

Fenella said: “I cram in as much as I can during that time.

“I haven’t shaved my pits since I went free – just trimming it to keep them in place.

“By choosing pictures where my pits are on display, I like to think I’m making body hair more socially acceptable one step at a time.”
