A HAIRSTYLIST to the stars has shared his top tips for tackling thinning hair.
Despite his A-list clients, most of the hair expert's recommendations are budget-friendly.

The man behind countless iconic Hollywood hairstyles revealed some of his secret haircare weapons.
Clayton has worked with everyone from Olivia Rodrigo and Lizzie Olsen to Jenna Ortega and Elizabeth Banks.
Using his TikTok platform to help his followers, he listed the four products he swears by for dealing with hair loss.
For his first go-to item, the professional advised viewers to use the $9 , available from Target.
"It’s going to give you a lot of lift, a lot of hold," he explained to his audience.
"If you do have fine hair a little bit goes a long way with any product," Clayton said as he spayed a small amount of the volume booster on his locks.
For his next tip, he discussed the best way to tease your hair without damaging it.
"Teasing with your hair is fine if you use the right tools so I don’t want you teasing with a brush, I don’t want to see you teasing with a fine toothcomb," he warned.
Clayton recommended purchasing The , which is available for $14 from Ulta.
"This is amazing, it’s going to give you that strong base underneath but it’s easy to brush out," he explained.
"You’re not going to end up snagging your hair," Clayton told his followers.
For his next recommendation, he showed viewers "a cult favorite" for haircare.

The popular item is available for $21 from Amazon, and according to Clayton is well worth purchasing.
"It’s going to give your hair so much grit, so much hold," he explained.
"You’re going to use this when your hair is dry, it comes out like a powder, it weirdly feels wet when you pour it out, then you’re just going to massage it in," he said.
Clayton recommended the product for anyone with a shorter haircut looking for a lift.
Finally, he revealed his favorite item for temporarily tackling gray roots in dark hair.
He showed viewers R+Co's $26 Bright Shadows .
"If you do a quick over your head it’s going to cover the scalp a little bit," Clayton explained, demonstrating how to use the product.
While he pointed out that cheaper alternatives are available for disguising gray hairs, the stylist recommended R+Co for full scalp coverage.
"It’s not sticky, it’s not going to transfer, [and it] is going to last you," he concluded.
