Since its release in 2006, Cameron Diaz’s quintessential cosy Christmas look has inspired me year after year.
Once the sequins and glitter have had their moment, there's nothing better than getting all warm and snug in knitwear over the festive season - especially if you’re trying to save on heating bills.
If there's any time to indulge in cashmere, it's around Christmas - and these high-street pieces from M&S and H&M have the same feel, warmth and longevity as designer styles.
It's perfect for wearing to lounge around at home, and if you need to make an unplanned dash to the shops, like Cameron, then you’ll still look stylish.
I also love this Fair Isle knit from Mango that's neutral enough to wear past the 25th, but still has a festive feel.
Swap your beanie for a balaclava snood look that's loved by the likes of Alexa Chung and Bella Hadid, and don’t forget snuggly accessories like fuzzy socks and gloves.
These woolly wonders will feel just as good as they look.

Set during Christmas 1952 in New York, this love-against-all-odds movie is a festive style feast!
Cate Blanchett risks everything, even not seeing her own daughter, for a romantic affair with younger woman, Rooney Mara. And the electricity between them is palpable...
But let's talk about the clothes!
The modern day version of Carol’s headscarf and coat combo is the Scoat (scarf coat) and let’s not forget the Mary-Janes that have been a viral sensation this season.
There is a real trend for the return to a sharper silhouette at the minute, with sexy fishtail figure-hugging skirts teamed with prim-and-proper jewel-button cardigans.
Add in cat-eyed sunnies and a statement handbag, and you're there.

This 2003 Christmas romance is so predictable that it hurts. However, every year I find myself sticking the romcom on while wrapping my presents - a true traditional guilty pleasure.
It's so bad that it's sooo good!
Keira Knightley plays ‘Juliet’ in this classic love-twist. She's quite the girl about town and I am obsessed with her effortless dress sense.
Her asymmetric knit is one of my favourite pieces in the film (aside from her gorgeous feathered wedding frock, obv!).
Although it may not be weather-appropriate, it looks super-cute styled with low-waisted skinny jeans (low-waisted is going to be big next season!) and her iconic baker boy hat.
There’s some real classics in her wardrobe, from denim jackets to cashmere cardis - but if feathers are your bag, River Island does a great selection of affordable faux-feather-trim tops, dresses and trousers. They’re even made with poppers so that you can wash the garment without ruining them - win- win!
Deputy Fashion Editor Abby loves Catherine O'Hara's style in Home Alone

The first Home Alone film was released 33 years ago and yet Catherine O’Hara’s outfits are still stylish now!
Playing Kevin’s mother Kate McCallister, her outfits seem very put-together for someone who spends the film frantically running around.
Most of her pieces are classic wardrobe staples - smart tailoring, cable knits and wool coats. She was rocking quiet luxury decades before it was even a thing!
The shops are currently full of pieces like this, so her style is really easy to emulate.
M&S has some great coats, like this beige version for £69. Look to Zara for a power suit - grey is a big colour this winter so you’ll be bang on trend with this two piece. And for a touch of colour, add a neck scarf from Fable England.

All these pieces together make a great capsule wardrobe that you can mix and match for years to come.
Who would have thought Kevin McCallister's mum is a 90’s style icon?! But I’m here for it.
