Four top fashion trends that are giving you cellulite and the go-to staples to avoid ‘orange peel’ legs
STARS including Khloe Kardashian and Holly Hagan are normalising ‘orange peel’ skin but celeb stylist Lalla Bronshtein tells Yasmin Harisha how you dress could prevent it . . .
More than 80 per cent of women experience cellulite but could clothing be partly to blame?
According to experts, the likes of bodycon dresses, skinny jeans and shapewear could be contributing to our orange-peel dimples.
While Khloe Kardashian was praised for showing cellulite on social media and Holly Hagan has spoken about how natural it is, many of us would still prefer to avoid it.
And Lalla reckons that wearing tight clothing can reduce circulation and make the problem worse.
She says: “Over the years tight, fitted clothing has been one of the ongoing fashion trends . . . but it’s a style that could be causing cellulite.

“To prevent it, wear free-flowing and loose garments and opt for more natural fibres, such as cotton and linen, instead of synthetic and polyester fabrics.”
Here Lalla rates which clothes are the worst offenders, giving an orange-peel rating out of five, and suggests offers to help keep cellulite at bay.
DON'T WEAR
SKINNY JEANS (4/5 Orange peels)
SKINNY jeans have been making a big a comeback over the last couple of years, with everyone from A-list actor Nicole Kidman to Kate, the Princess of Wales wearing them out and about.

But be warned, it’s a style that you should swerve if you are serious about wanting to reduce your risk of cellulite.
Lalla says: “High waisted skinny jeans, which promise to lift, shape and contour your body, are great, but the combination of a tight fit and denim is likely to cause more cellulite.”
LEGGINGS (3/5 Orange peels)
WHILE Hailey Bieber, Jennifer Lopez and Kendall Jenner can often be seen out in them, they might not be the best option for everyone.
Lalla says: “Low-rise leggings which have a mid-level compression will pull you in but the tight fit may cause more cellulite.”
The same goes for exercise leggings.
Lalla says: “Wearing them while exercising means there will be lots of blood pumping around that won’t be able to flow through the body as smoothly. This can result in more cellulite to the leg.”
BODYCON DRESS (2/5 Orange peels)
BODYCON dresses never seem to go out of style and are loved by celebs including Heidi Klum, Mariah Carey and Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins.
But choose yours carefully as one that is too tight could create more dreaded orange peel skin.
Lalla says: “Long-sleeve bodycon dresses embrace all of your curves and shape – but they aren’t great for circulation.
“Because the dress covers the whole body, there is more chance of developing cellulite in areas other than just the legs.”
TIGHT JUMPSUIT (5/5 Orange peels)
CATSUITS aren’t something you wear every day, but it’s a big celebrity trend right now.
You only have to look at the likes of actress Helen Flanagan and singer Rita Ora who have sensationally rocked the look.
With Christmas party season upon us, you could be tempted to try one.
But Lalla gives it a firm no.
She says: “A catsuit will suck you in from head to toe.
“But with this being a very tight-fitted item of clothing that covers the whole body, there is a high chance of cellulite being caused.”
DO WEAR
STRAIGHT LEG JEANS
LALLA says: “These are the perfect alternative to skinny jeans.
“It means you can still look stylish, but the fabric is loose around the skin which will allows your body to breathe.”
OVERSIZE SHIRT
LALLA says: “Oversized shirts are extremely comfortable to wear as they have a loose fit.
“They can be dressed up or down and, most importantly, they don’t restrict any blood flow.”

LOOSE JUMPSUIT
LALLA says: “Loose jumpsuits allow for plenty of movement, which means pure comfort and no restrictions on your body.”
