A food expert has issued a warning against putting your rashers in your air fryer, as it can be dangerous.

Dietitian Brenda Peralta told : “It is a fatty food, and when it is cooked in an air fryer, the fat can drip down and cause smoke or splatter.

"This can make the bacon difficult to cook evenly, and it can also produce a lot of smoke and odours."

Brenda continued that you can run the risk of your bacon being under-cooked, which can lead to food poisoning.

Cooking bacon in your machine can also be a hazard due to the build-up of grease, which can lead to smoke.

If your air fryer starts smoking, it can fill your kitchen with the smell of burnt food which is rather unpleasant.

Meanwhile, air fryer-cooked bacon also doesn’t look as aesthetically pleasing on a plate.

Brenda explained: "A bacon strip is a small and delicate food, and it can be difficult to flip or remove from the air fryer basket without breaking it."

And the dietitian said it can also be time-consuming to use an air fryer for a big stack of bacon.

She continued: "The air fryer basket may not be large enough to accommodate a large quantity of bacon.

"This can make it difficult to cook a lot of bacon at once, which can be inconvenient if you are cooking for a group."

Turns out you may need to whip out your frying pan or use your grill for this one.

Shoppers have been rushing to snap up an air fryer with a huge capacity that is on sale for a remarkable £38.84.

The has a huge 17-litre capacity, which according to the product description means that it can cook for eight to 10 people at once.
