Posting on , a public Facebook group with a whopping 337,100 members, one savvy mum, Carol Copley, asked fellow cleaning enthusiasts their thoughts about the Meaco Arete One 12L dehumidifier and air purifier.
She wrote: “Has anyone got this dehumidifier, the reviews are great on it. No mention of the running cost though.
“If anyone can let me know how much theirs costs to run that would be fab. Thank you.”
Facebook users sprinted to the comments, eager to share their thoughts on the dehumidifier.

“Cheap to run, don't think about it. Best buy ever. Definitely money well spent.”
At the same time, another chimed in: “No condensation since I've had it. Runs all the time and cuts out when the house gets to correct humidity.”
Whilst one user wrote: “I've had one for two years, not noticed any increase in bills.”
