Shoppers in frenzy after spotting ‘best ever’ £1 Wilko-branded essential in rival store
WILKO shops disappeared from the high street last month.
The budget chain crashed into administration in August after its founder's granddaughter Lisa Wilkinson said everybody had put their "heart and soul" into saving it.
She said: "Everybody has thrown everything and everything again at trying to make Wilko a success.
"The team members, the suppliers, the landlords - and if I get tearful, that's how I feel because people have worked really bloody hard, round the clock, to keep the thing going."
But the Wilko name and website was later salvaged by The Range as part of a £5million deal which saw Wilko's home delivery make a welcome return on October 12.
Shoppers have since been able to order hundreds of bargains to their doorstep including homeware, storage and Christmas items.
Her snap quickly racked up around 1,000 likes and almost 700 comments.
And her fellow dog lovers are delighted to see the item make a return.
"Best poop bags ever", gushed one.
A second wrote: "Best ones you can get. I bought 500 bags before Wilko closed."
A third added: "What a relief! But I bet you still won’t be able to get hold of them…..they are like gold dust."
"Omg we have got to go to The Range I need to stock up on these", a fourth chimed in.
A fourth delighted shopper said: "Wilko lives on."
Someone else wrote: "Wow thanks for letting people know, we thought we wouldn’t be able to get these again."
And another said: "Oh my. You don’t realise what this means.
"I’m literally on my last 2 and have been wondering what I’m going to buy!
"Off to The Range after work tomorrow to buy me some of these."
A number of bids were put in to try and salvage Wilko's stores, including one from Doug Putman, the billionaire owner of HMV.
But none were successful meaning the budget chain's 400 shops closed and 12,000 jobs were lost.
A number of retailers have, however, since snapped up some of the stores.
Poundland owners Pepco have bought up to 71 locations with a view to opening the sites under their brand name.
B&M has also purchased 51 stores, although the retailer is yet to confirm which branches are included in the deal.
Meanwhile, discount chain One Beyond is taking on up to 10 former Wilko sites.

And in a surprise move, five Wilko shops are set to return to the UK high street before Christmas.
Shoppers will once again be able to browse in the beloved discounter after CDS Superstores, which trades as The Range and Wilko, confirmed it will be relaunching the chain at sites in England, Scotland, and Wales.
