I’m a bride-to-be and my mom and sister left me speechless with their purchase – people say it’s ‘unhinged behavior’

A bride-to-be shared the strange purchase her mother and sister made after her fiance proposed.
In her , a Reddit user, who goes by Terracotta Town (), revealed the rift that formed between the bride and her family following her engagement.
The original post from the bride, which was reshared to Reddit, explained: "I’m engaged and getting married [soon].
"My mom bought her and my sister matching rings that resemble my [engagement] ring."
To back up her seemingly surreal story, the bride shared pictures of her own ring as well as the ones purchased by her mother and sister.
She explained that both women "wear it on their ring finger every day."
The unnamed bride also clarified that her mother and sister were both unattached.
After receiving news of the bizarre purchases, the bride said: "I texted them both, honestly I’m speechless."
She added: "I’m not a bridezilla whatsoever but this upset me."

In the comments section of the Reddit post, the original poster provided further context to the situation.
They posted a screenshot of a text exchange between the bride and her sister.
The bride wrote: "I think this is inappropriate the year I’m getting married, it really is, I’ve talked to a few people about it."
She also pointed out that there are "thousands of different styles" of rings available.
The screenshot also showed the sister of the bride's apparently unbothered response.
Replying to a picture of their mother's ring, she said: "I have one too, it was on sale and she bought us matching rings.
"I wear it to ward off freaks and she’s wearing it because we have an inside joke about us being mother and daughter."
She claimed that her mother had pretended to propose to her, asking her to be her daughter.
"[It's] not that serious," the bride-to-be's sister concluded over text.
Reddit users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the odd situation.
