"I have just found out that my child is named after my boyfriend’s ex", she said.

"My wee girl is five months old and has a very unusual name, picked by my partner as soon as we found out we were having a girl.

"His drunk friend started telling me how she was shocked at the name choice given it was his old girlfriend’s name.

"I had no idea and felt so embarrassed as he’d told me that he saw it on a baby names website.

"He’s admitted he liked the name and that it was his old girlfriend’s name but says they weren’t serious and he just liked it and wanted to use it.

"I feel like a mug and so embarrassed."

To retain her anonymity, the devastated mum didn't reveal her daughter's unique name.

But social media users have still urged her to change it and ditch her man, with a video discussing the incident racking up more than 300,000 views.

One fumed: "I’d simply pass away with rage. It’s the fact it’s rare and everyone knows where it came from."

A second could relate, as she wrote: "My ex wanted to do this with our daughter. I found out it was his ex and immediately refused."

A third said: "The name would be gone and so would he."

A fourth admitted: "I love my partner’s ex’s name but NEVER would I use it.

"The fact it was done by him is shocking. I would never forgive that and I'd rename the baby."

Meanwhile, a fifth insisted: "Oh hell no. I would be changing the baby's name and running for the hills from that guy."

And in a potential plot twist, another added: "Not me sitting here with a very unusual double-barrelled name wondering if I need to look my ex up on social media to see if he has a baby girl."
