A CLEANING expert has revealed how often you should actually be washing your bras.
With so many different theories out there, Georgina Bibby has shared the ultimate answer to a question that has long divided the nation.
The lingerie expert at clothing store Next has shared her tips that will have your bras lasting much longer.
Not only has she explained how often you should wash your bras, but also how to store them.
She said: "It will depend on the wearer and your everyday activities but washing your bra after every two to three wears is a good general rule to go by."
She also advised that as well as maintaining your bras, they should also be replaced frequently.

"The general rule of thumb is to replace bras after about 180 wears,"; she added.
But you may be wondering how to keep your bras safe while spinning in the wash - and Georgina has some neat tricks for this.
"When washing your bra, be sure to clasp it and use a mesh garment bag to cushion the bra and keep it from twisting and tangling in your washing machine," she said.
The lingerie tech expert also said washing your bras on a gentle cycle with cold water, avoiding the tumble dryer, and letting them air dry will also help to keep them feeling brand new.

In terms of storing the underwear - Georgina urges bra-wearers to store them flat instead of rolling them up as this will help keep shape and quality.
This comes after one bra fit expert issued her three rules for cleaning lingerie which she says will make the underwear last longer and save you a fortune.
While hand washing is best, she admitted she doesn't make time for that, but her tips keep her bras in good shape.
