NAIL FAIL

I got my nails done but was horrified by the result – people say it looks like a child did them

A BEAUTY fanatic is fuming after being charged £20 for a set of nails which "look like a child did them".

Chloe Fraser, from Edinburgh, was booked in to a salon in the capital for a file and polish nail appointment last Wednesday.

The mum had asked for yellow and blue nails with some glitter detailing and showed a picture of a similar set she had seen.

But she claimed they're a "mess" and has vowed never to return after the botched result.

Pictures show the polish already chipping with glitter appearing wonky.

Chloe told : “I asked for a file and polish and I showed her a picture of colours I wanted but she gave me a shellac knowing fine well what I wanted.

“The nails were an absolute mess. I've ended up wasting money as I’ve had no choice but to take them off.

“I told her to her face I wasn't happy with the nails and I'm having to pay for something I'm not happy with."

She added: “A good few people have said it's like a child has painted them on when it was supposed to have been done by a professional - they look like a toddler's nails.

“I'm not one to make a big deal about things like this but it's a complete waste of money and a waste of time."

Chloe claims she was told the price of her appointment would be £12 but was charged £20 on the day.

And after telling the nail tech she was unhappy with the nails, she was only offered a credit note for her next appointment or a redo.

The beautician, who has 12 years experience in the industry, has responded to the backlash.

“She showed me a picture of shellac nails and that is what I did,” she said.

“She originally asked for a file and polish but when she showed me the shellac picture I said that it would not look the same as she has short nails and the image showed someone with long nails.

“I did not charge for the glitter and did that for free. But I spent an hour of my time carrying out the manicure, should I not be paid for that?

“I have no idea why she is asking for a refund. I told her if she was not happy with the nails I would remove or redo them.”
