A FORMER footy WAG has set the record straight on why she kept her ex-husband’s surname four years after their divorce - after experiencing “daily” trolling for doing so.
One of the most asked questions Nadia Bartel gets on social media is: “Why did you keep your ex-husband’s surname?”
But the 38-year-old is fed up with trolls insinuating that she did so to cash in on football player Jimmy Bartel’s fame.
Nadia said she is quizzed daily on why she didn’t revert to her maiden name, Coppolino, after the split.
“I cannot tell you how many times I get asked this question, trolled about this,” she said in a retaliation video on TikTok. “Happens daily.
“It's been happening every day pretty much since my marriage ended.

“And I don't have to answer this question, obviously, but I'm just so sick of the question being thrown at me.
“I'm trolled with it all the time.”
The mum-of-two revealed that she kept her married name because she wanted to have the same one as her sons Aston, seven, and Henley, four, who she shares with Jimmy.
“I'm very traditional like that,” she continued. “I don't see why I personally have to have a different name to my small children, because my marriage ended.

“I guess it's just the way I've been brought up culturally. It's just the way I am.
“And I really want the same surname as my boys.”
Nadia added that she loves her maiden name and hasn’t ruled out reverting back to it in the future.
“It was really hard for me to change from Coppolino to Bartel,” she explained. “But then, obviously, I've had Bartel for such a period of time now.
“I just look at it as the last name of my two boys.
“And I really don't know why all of you care so much about it and why I still need to be trolled about it today when it was four years ago when my marriage ended.”
The model announced her split from retired Australian Football League (AFL) star Jimmy, 39, in August 2019 after five years of marriage.
