I’m 40 and I look better than I did at 25, I’ve never touched Botox – why would I when a £5 product does a better job?
A WOMAN has opened up about how she’s managed to turn back time and keep ageing at bay.
And the then 40-year-old revealed she’s never touched anti-ageing treatment such as Botox, as she’s come up with her own routine that couldn’t be cheaper instead.
The beauty fan posted a snap of herself looking fresh-faced and youthful, as she admitted she was happier with her appearance now than she was when she was in her twenties.
The brunette took to the website Reddit to looking for tips and tricks.
She revealed: “I like my face better at 40 than I did at 25.
“About to turn 40 and was just thinking about how pleased I am about where my skin is at.”
She then went into further detail on how she’d changed her skincare routine over the years and couldn’t be happier with how far she’d come, putting her “unfiltered” skin down to a variety of different products.
The woman continued: “I smoked for 20 years, fell asleep in makeup, washed with dial soap... I did pretty much everything horrid you can do to your skin.
“Been trying to look after it better for about two years now. Freshly washed, unfiltered skin above.”
Lifting the lid on the exact products she uses each morning and evening, the Reddit user then shared how you don’t have to break the bank looking after yourself.

In fact, she said she had come to rely on products from cheap brands like The Ordinary, where prices start from just £5.
She divulged that her morning routine consisted of “a mineral oil wash, The Ordinary Vitamin C suspension 30% in Silicone, [and] The Ordinary “Buffet” with copper peptides.”
She then follows this up with Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle moisturiser and Biore UV Aqua Rich for the summer months or Anessa Perfect Facial UV in the colder, winter season.
And she’s made some tweaks for her nighttime routine, which she maintained is equally as important.
Once again, she opted for a mineral oil wash to get rid of the day’s make-up and dirt, plus Tretonin (0.05%).
She also revealed that she mixes things up on the odd occasion, particularly if she feels like her skin is in need of some extra TLC.
Under the list marked ‘sometimes’, she wrote: “Nivea with Aquafor on top, if I’m dry, an hour after the tret at night (in the early months of tret, this was every night).”
While she indulged in a makeup artist choice chemical peel and dermarolling from time to time.
And everyone was in agreement that the routine was clearly working wonders for her and her skin.
The post racked up over 8k likes, as many took to the comment section to compliment that lady.
