Since dandelions are so hardy, they have no problem popping back up, even if you have used harsh chemicals on them.

And if you don't deal with a few dandelions they can quickly take over your garden.

That's why gardening expert Nilufer Danis, founder of the website , has shared the best method to get rid of the pesky weeks for good.

The trick is to make sure the entire plant is removed from the ground, he noted.

"This method ensures that the entire root system of the dandelion is removed, preventing it from growing back," he told

Using a trowel or small fork dig around the weed, making sure you've gone deep enough to reach all it's roots.

Getting rid of them sooner will also stop them spreading, so as soon as you spot a new dandelion pop up it's best to get rid of it.

You should also wear gloves and when it's time to bin the weeds you have pulled up, keep them for away from your garden, since they can still spread.

That said, digging them out might be a bit exhausting if you have a lot to get rid of in your garden.

According to the pro, you can try other methods, like boiling water or even mulching to get rid of them from large areas.

Too much mulch can lead to rot though - so be careful to only add as much as you need to smother the dandelions.

If you want to give the boiling water method a whirl instead, simply pour the water straight over the weed and it will kill the top of the plant, as well as it's roots.

All three methods won't cost you a penny and are perfect for ridding your garden of the annoying plants.
