Most popular girls’ names for 2023 so far revealed – and Olivia is FINALLY wiped off the top spot
PICKING the perfect name for your newborn is a pretty daunting task.
You don't want to give them the same name as every other kid, but how can you tell what's popular right now?
Luckily, have revealed the top names for 2023 so far, and there are a few surprises in there.
They told the exactly what's in and what's on it's way out.
Although Sophia topped the list last year, parents of girls this year are favouring Lily instead, which was the second most popular name in 2022.
Olivia is also on it's way down, after coming in first place on the list for years - although it does still rank third overall.

In fourth place is Amelia, followed by Freya in fifth place - both of which have been firm favourites for parents in recent years too.
Mila has also gained a lot of popularity, jumping from the 31 all the way to number 10 on the list.
Willow, Ivy and Phoebe also appear on the list of girls, and names like Lyra, Hazel and Riley are new features as well.
For boys, the top five names have stayed exactly the same as Muhammad, Noah, Theo, Leo, and Oliver secure their places.

That said, Jack has been knocked down to seventh place after it was overtaken by Arthur.
Archie, Oscar, Jude and Freddie also make the top 20 list of boys names, with names like Rowan, Jesse and Asher making an appearance further down as well.
Babycentre also noted that Royal names are less popular, with Harry going from 13 to 23 on the list.
Instead, more parents are choosing to name their little ones after TV characters, with names from the likes Bridgeton soaring in popularity.
