Mrs Hinch fans rave about 75p buy for getting rid of thick brown toilet limescale – and there’s no scrubbing needed

FANS of the cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch are going wild over an inexpensive product that banishes nasty toilet limescale.

Limescale is an issue that plagues many homes and can often cause problems in bathrooms as it builds.

Evaporated toilet water emits calcium carbonate - a chalky substance which can result in pesky limescale.

Posting on the  on Facebook, one landlord sought help.

He asked: "My tenants have just moved out and besides leaving the house rather dirty, the toilet is black.

"Best solutions to get it back to white please?"

While some helpful users recommended bleach, others said this would only paper over the cracks.

Amongst the numerous suggestions, one product was mentioned more than once.

"Harpic tablets work all the time and you don't need to scrub, just brush it off with your toilet brush after the tablets have been left to soak for some time", one said.

A second agreed, adding: "Harpic toilet tablets, you only need two of them. Leave them in the bowl for around 20 to 30 minutes then brush and flush

A third Mrs Hinch fan weighed in: "Twenty minutes and any thick brown toilet limescale will be gone.

"They are amazing and the best thing for limescale in your toilet."

The tablets come in packs of eight, and retail for £3 at most supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury's and Ocado.

Only two tablets need to be used for each clean - setting you back a meagre 75p per use.

It comes after a Mrs Hinch superfan has revealed how she transformed her entire garden for just £50 using bargains and freebies lying on the street.
