I’m a lip reader – here’s what Meghan Markle told Prince Harry on their basketball date night

A LIP reader has deciphered what Meghan Markle whispered to Prince Harry during their date at a basketball game last night.

The Sussexes were spotted cheering on the Lakers at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

The couple appeared on the big screen several times throughout the night, including once when Harry leant in for a smooch on the "kiss cam".

Fans also caught them in conversation while in their luxury private box, joined by their entourage.

Though it is not known exactly what they were discussing, John Cassidy, an expert in lip reading, reckons at one point Meg, 41, told her husband, 38, to "put on account".

Harry then responded with "yep" and a nod before the duchess added: "That's brilliant, that's what I'm saying."

It was the first time the pair had been out in public together since it was confirmed the prince would attend his dad's coronation alone.

Harry will jet to the UK for the historic ceremony while his wife will remain at their £12million Montecito mansion with their two children.

The coronation falls on May 6 - the same day as Archie's fourth birthday.

The announcement of Meghan's decision to skip the event sparked speculation that she was influenced by a split from the Royal Family over allegations of "unconscious bias".

The Suits star previously raised racism concerns in a letter to the then-Prince of Wales following her interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, according to The Telegraph.

During the tell-all chat, Meghan claimed a senior member of the Firm had asked about how dark their future son's skin might be.

Charles is said to have written to his daughter-in-law, expressing his sadness over the divide within the household.

A source said the duchess felt his response was unsatisfactory, which played a part in her decision her to miss the coronation.

But the Sussexes described the alleged reasoning as "ridiculous and false".

In a statement shared through royal commentator Omid Scobie on Twitter, the couple said: "The Duchess of Sussex is going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago.

"Any suggestion otherwise is false and frankly ridiculous.

"We encourage tabloid media and various royal correspondents to stop the exhausting circus that they alone are creating."
