Mom shares son’s unique name – people say it’ll ‘be a nightmare the second he does anything lazy’
WHILE it may be fun to give your child an eccentric name, some people believe parents aren’t thinking through their choices.
A mom shared her son’s name online, and Reddit users say she made a mistake.
Posting to Facebook, the boy mom shared a photo of adorable baby sweaters and onesies that her son outgrew, hoping to sell them to another mother.
The only resale problem? His very rare name was monogrammed on everything.
“Long shot, but is anyone planning on having a ‘Coast’ this fall?” she asked, revealing his ocean-inspired moniker.
“If so, I have tons of monogrammed stuff.”

Upon viewing the post, another user couldn’t help but share it on to hear what people thought about the name.
Nearly everyone shut it down.
“Coast is such a terrible name. I feel so bad for that child! It doesn’t sound pretty, it’s not even an ‘interesting’ word to name someone, it is just such a random word.
“She might as well have named him ‘Shore’ or ‘Beach’ or gone all out and named him ‘Coastline,'” one person wrote.

Another user agreed, calling it a “nonsense” word, while someone else noted its negative connotation:
“It's gonna be a nightmare the second he does anything that might be considered lazy or underachieving,” they wrote.
Others, however, were focused on the problem with monogramming.
“Maybe now people will start considering resale value alongside name choice,” one user commented.
“I would never have shirts with my kids name on it… I feel like that’s kind of dangerous… anyone can lure them over by calling their name,” added another.
