I’m a foodie and here’s why I’ll never use an air fryer – I hate them, I don’t get the obsession
A FOODIE has served up a sizzling hot take that stunned her fans - she hates air fryers.
Sam is a whizz in the kitchen and regularly shares mouth-watering creations, and hints and tips with followers.
But she loves the normal method of frying in a pan and reckons that will always deliver the best and tastiest results.
Sam’s baffled by the sudden explosion in popularity of air fryers, which she sees as a passing fad.
And she confessed that she will never splash out on one of the gadgets that are supposed to be time and cash savers.
Sam, from Glasgow, said: “You will never see me using an air fryer. I don’t like them.
“I think they are a waste of money. I think they’re a gimmick. I just don’t see the point of them.”
As the price of energy has soared and the cost of living crisis has kicked in, people have been going mad for air fryers.
It’s claimed they help create meals that taste like they’ve been fried but are much healthier. And they use less electricity.
But Sam is not one of the converts. She told her social media followers that she’ll never scrap her frying pan.
She said: “Babe, if I’m frying something it’s getting fried in oil.
“I know it’s not healthy but we’re not eating it every single day. Also the people who say they're making fried chicken or chips in the air fryer say it tastes the same. Some people say it tastes even nicer.
“They’re talking rubbish. Nothing tastes better than something that’s deep fried in oil and that’s a fact.”
The most popular air fryer is the Ninja but shops like Aldi and Asda have created their own brands that have also been smash hits.
One said: “You’ve never had a Ninja.”

Another added: “Get with the programme oil dork.”
While one fan said: “I can cook a chicken 20 mins from raw in the Ninja and get it crispy. The chips are better cooked in oil. Defo."
