I’m a cleaning whizz – my ‘Pink and Blink’ trick will get all your windows sparkling clean… in under an hour
WOULD you like your windows to be sparkling clean all the year round without having to spend hours doing it?
A cleaning pro has shared her top tips to make this dream a reality – and hailed her hack the ‘pink and blink’ method.
Chiana Dickson said the at-home technique earned its name because “it was super fast and worked.”
Chiana, who revealed her technique on the website , also explained that her hack had “only four steps and took less than an hour.”
So how did she do it?
As the name suggests, Chiana’s secret weapon is the miracle cleaning product, The Pink Stuff.

She explained that while there are many tried and tested window cleaning ways, she favours hers and decided to give it a go on her outside windows to see the results.
Chiana continued: “My favourite, however, is cleaning with The Pink Stuff.
“This miracle cleaning paste worked wonders for cleaning my glass shower doors and removing hard water stains, so I had to give it a go on my windows.
“To apply the paste, I used a soft sponge, working in small circular motions from top to bottom.

“The paste is a light abrasive, helping to scrub away layers of dust and dirt without scratching the glass.”
Chiana also said that because The Pink Stuff contains sodium silicate, it effectively and quickly breaks down grease and prevents “hard water stains from forming”.
The cleaning fan then said that once she had put the pink balm onto her windows, she rinsed the solution away with “plain, cold water.”
She added: “I used a watering can but you could use a low-pressure hose pipe if you have a connector in your yard.”
Chiana also said that if the paste “stuck” to any parts of the glass, she simply reached for a clean, damp, soft microfibre cloth to remove the residue.
The third step in her process was to remove the excess water from the windows.
She went on: “While the traditional method of cleaning windows uses a standard squeegee to help remove water from the glass, I opt for a window vac to collect excess water and prevent streaking.

“I then buffed small water lines from the corners of the windows with a clean, dry, soft microfiber to the perfect result.”
Once the water was sucked up from the window using the handy gadget, the cleaning pro then moved on to the final step – one that she said is often forgotten, but is just as important.
She explained: “Window cleaning doesn’t stop with the glass.
“Window tracks gather dirt and grime (and sometimes even mould) throughout the year.”
But she had discovered another nifty trick to stop this from happening, which involves cutting two horizontal slips into a sponge so that it can fit into the nooks and crannies seamlessly.
And Chiana said that her favourite thing about her window cleaning method is that once it’s done, you can see the results for a longer period of time.

She concluded: “This window cleaning hack is perfect for freshening up windows and keeping them clean for longer.
“Meaning I don’t have to spend time and energy re-cleaning the panes halfway through a hot summer.”
