MISS DISS

I’m a teacher and here’s the common kids names I hate – I’m begging parents to pick something else

A TEACHER has revealed the common kids names she hates - and she's sick of them in her classroom.

The Miss, who's been teaching for 28 years, was asked for suggestions on "good Scottish boy names" by a mum-to-be.

And while the teacher - a mum to two boys - had no monikers to offer, she did urge the woman to avoid certain names.

She fumed: "Don't do Lewis/ Ewan/ Calum/ Owen like EVERY other teenager I know."

She also defended her own children's names after they had been branded "new and trendy".

She added: "Struan and Lachlan are trendy? Cough, cough!

"I have a teen Struan (West coast) no-one has his name in his entire, large secondary school (or primary).

"I teach secondary and in 28 years have taught one (who is 16).

"It's still my favourite name ever. It's very old- it's the name of a place!

"I also have a Lauchlan (not Lachlan) . Not trendy at all. Again we know none and no-one in his primary with his name.

"It's a very old name- it means man of the loch- as it has it's roots in the Vikings (which my family line goes back to)."

"I know they're not for you, but don't dismiss them as trendy, therefore lesser."

Elsewhere, another teacher has revealed the names of students she dreads seeing on her register - and it's bad news for Emma.

And this school secretary has lifted the lid on the "chavviest" names feared by teachers.
