Basil the Beagle's owner took to TikTok to share a video of the gorgeous pup - although her pet cost a fortune.

But the owner, who had hoped the superior breeding would lead to fewer trips to the vets, clearly loves Basil to pieces - she captioned the clip: "Don't regret it at all."

The video racked up a whopping 28,500 likes.

With more than 22,700 TikTok followers, it's clear fans of Basil love to watch clips of the Beagle having fun.

Viewers were quick to comment, sharing their adoration for purebred pups - despite some health problems and soaring vet costs.

One commented: "No matter, love them all unconditionally."

Another chimed in: "My dog has cost me over $20,000 so far in vet bills. Dogs definitely feel like part of the family so they deserve to be treated like it."
