I’m a teacher – these are the worst names of kids I’ve taught and there’s a boys name that’s WAY better for a girl

MOST parents spend ages picking the perfect name for their newborn, but that doesn't mean everyone else is going to like it.

One teacher proved just that when they revealed their least favourite names from some of the kids they've taught over the years - and there's some unusual picks.

Posting on Reddit, the anonymous teacher explained they teach a nursery class full of young kids, so it's safe to say they've probably heard their fair share of unusual names.

Some of them were included on their list of "least favourites" purely because they're "just hard to pronounce."

Rorie and Aurora were big no-no's for that reason.

The other bad names included: Syxe, Lejend, Ares, Hadley, Brynlee, Daxton, Paxton and Rilyn.

"Syxe is pronounced like the number. Rorie is used as a girl’s name here," they added.

Meanwhile, the teacher admitted to loving a few classic names like Amelia and Zara.

Charlie is also a winner, but only if it's for a girl, and Griffin also made the good list.

Although the teacher's favourite names seemed to be more traditional, they also admitted to liking Catalaya .

"I would never name my kid this one but I think it’s unique without being cringy," they explained.

Fellow Reddit users mostly agreed with the teacher's picks, although some were confused with the pronunciation of the names.

"Have to disagree with you on Aurora, Ares, and Charlie, but otherwise, I would agree with your judgement."

The teacher added: "I do honestly like the name Aurora, it’s just so damn hard to say that I can’t help but hate it."

Meanwhile other users were just relieved to hear 'Syxe' is pronounced like the number.

"My first was like Sexy, so I’m glad that’s not the case," one joked.

Another said: "I really like Amelia. A toddler named Ares sounds absolutely terrifying."

"I don’t get people who say Rory/Aurora are hard to say," someone else mused.
