THE Princess of Wales takes the strain as she pulls 20kg tyres while visiting a polar explorer pal.
Army Capt , 34, covered 922 miles in 70 days in Antarctica last month — the longest solo unsupported polar expedition to date, of which Kate was patron.
She used the tyres to prepare for lugging kit and supplies on a 120kg sledge in -30C and 60mph winds.
Kate hugged and congratulated Preet at Landau Forte College in her home town, Derby.
Addressing pupils, she said Preet has been “a huge inspiration”.
Kate joined pupils hearing how last month she broke the world record for the furthest unsupported solo polar expedition.

Kate said to her new pal: "Well done. You’re an inspiration to others.”
Speaking to pupils, Kate added: "She’s been a huge inspiration, I'm sure, to all of you and certainly to me.
"I really hope it inspires you all to believe in yourselves, to push your boundaries, and to really work on your own resilience because there are such strong messages that help support our emotional and mental wellbeing."
Captain Chandi, who lost 20 kgs during her expedition, suffered frostbite on her leg while she was in Antarctica and has to undergo an operation to rectify the problem before returning to her Army duties.
