AMERICANS seem to be turning against the Duke and Duchess of Sussex — after they both plummeted in an opinion poll.

The couple, previously well-liked in the US, have sunk in popularity since Harry’s memoir Spare was launched last week, trashing the Royal Family.

The tome has become the fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time.

But Harry now has an approval rating of -7, compared to +38 in early December.

Meghan Markle sank to -13, compared to +23 over the same period, pollster Redfield & Wilton revealed.

Asked if Harry was right to reveal intimate conversations with his family members in his biography, only 26 per cent said he was — with 44 per cent saying he was in the wrong.

But the book and supporting interviews have had little effect on some, with around 37 per cent of Americans having the same opinion of the Sussexes as they did before.

The poll, which was made up of 2,000 US voters, marks a serious backslide in ratings for the couple, who moved to the country after stepping back from royal duties in March 2020.

Among the prince's shocking revelations was that William allegedly "knocked his brother to the floor" during an argument about Meghan.

The Prince of Wales is said to have branded the former actress "rude" and "difficult" before grabbing Harry by the collar, ripping his necklace and sending him crashing down.

The duke claims he was left with a visible injury to his back after landing and smashing his dog's bowl.

Harry also confessed to snorting cocaine on several occasions, smoking cannabis at Eton and experimenting with magic mushrooms.

And the wayward prince even told how he lost his virginity to a horse-loving older woman — in a field behind a pub.
