A DOG trainer has revealed the three warning signs that indicate that you should stop walking your dog every day.

Taking to TikTok, dog trainer Jamie revealed walking them every day when they exhibit three specific behaviours could be doing more harm than good.

The dog expert shared his handy tips with his 32,600 followers on the video-sharing app.

He revealed that if your dog pulls on the leash, barks, or doesn't listen to you, they might be overstimulated and stressed on your walk so you should cut them down.

He said: "After a stressful event your dog's stress levels can take up to 48 hours to return to normal."

"So if you're walking your dog every day and they are finding their walks stressful, your dog's stress levels aren't actually returned to baseline before you walk them again.

"So your dog's stress levels are actually accumulating, making your dog's walk worse."

This concept is known as trigger stacking - and could be stressing your pooch out.

Jamie recommends walking your dog two or three times a week and instead prioritising training and bonding with the handler on other days.

He added you should also try to make walks less stressful, for example by keeping your dog calm from the start of their walk and staying at your dog's own pace.

Jamie has shared many useful tips on TikTok, all aimed at helping out dog lovers.

He has even shared his five favourite pooches - as well as the three breeds he would never get.

He believes it is important to consider which breed is best suited to you as a dog owner.
