A DIVORCE expert has revealed where in the country Brits are most likely to end their marriage.
New research from split-ups in 2021 has revealed a concerning trend - with certain areas recording well above national averages.
That is certainly the grim forecast for men in the South East of England - they are three times more likely to file for divorce than their North East counterparts.
The figures see one in 67 men and one in 72 women split up in the South East - whereas the North East saw just one in 194 men and one in 211 women call it quits in 2021.
The national average stands at 1 in 84 for men and 1 in 89 for women divorcing in the same year.
It means places like Newcastle, Middlesbrough, and Sunderland could be the best place to tie the knot.

When it comes to counties, quiet rural areas do not fare well in the slightest.
Somerset and Rutland came up as two of the worst for divorce, with couples 3-times more likely to split than the national average.
And you're twice as likely to end it all if you live in Wiltshire or North Yorkshire.
But Lincolnshire's South Holland and West Lindsey should be given the widest of berths where both men and women are five times more likely to get a divorce.

And when it comes to London, Hackney and Havering are the worst places to tie the knot - recording double the number of divorces than the rest of the UK.
But if you're seeking a strong and stable marriage, relocating to Cornwall may be an idea.
Research suggests couples in the South West holiday hotspot are four times less likely to get divorced than the national average.
But if seaside living isn’t for you, consider Nottinghamshire and the West Midlands where couples are three times less likely to end it.
Other notable mentions are South Derbyshire, Lincoln and Leicester with couples are also between three and four times less likely to call it quits.
The research was commissioned by Easy Online Divorce ahead of Divorce Day on January 3 - the busiest day of the year for break up lawyers.
Founder James Brien said: "While divorce can happen for a number of reasons, the stresses caused by Christmas can be particularly challenging for couples.
"The added financial pressure, hosting of families, and sourcing those hard-to-find gifts are enough to push any couple over the edge."
