In one of her , the hair pro shares the five things she thinks helped her hair grow long and healthy.

“Started doing overnight hair oil masks.

“Stopped going to sleep with it wet or in a damaging hairstyle (tight bun on top of head). 

“Stopped using damaging fabrics on my hair - no cotton towels or cotton pillowcases! I switched to microfiber hair towel wraps and silk pillowcases. 

“Started doing DIY hair masks to help with regulating my hair oil production - I used to have naturally oily hair - and also to help stimulate hair growth.

“Started using the right shampoo for my scalp and the right conditioner for the bottom half of my hair.

During the reel, Monique shows her hair before - collarbone length, with split ends and thin patches on the top of her head. 

She then shares what it looks like now - smooth and almost down to her waist. 

Fans loved the content creator’s advice, with the video gaining more than 44,000 likes. 

In the comments, Monique’s followers asked her advice on their own hair problems, with one writing: “Whenever I use oil I feel like I lose so much hair the next day when I shower!”

Monique replied: “It’s normal to see a slight increase in hair coming out the first few times doing it! Try using a less sticky oil if it continues.”
