How does an air fryer work?

The name of the appliance is misleading, your food is not fried as hot oil is not used to cook it.

Unlike a fat fryer, where food is submerged in hot oil, an air fryer uses convection to heat and cook your meal.

Very similar to a fan oven, it can bake and roast but the heating elements are located at the top.

Air fryers also have a fan that help to cook up your food in no time.

The food is placed in a basket, which allows for the hot air to move freely around the food.

Cooking with an air fryer uses a lot less oil to cook your food, but don't be fooled, a small amount is still required.

You can cook a variety of food in an air fryer, from curries to tapas to chips.

Meat, fish and desserts can also be cooked in this gadget with much less oil and fat.
